Color Run!

My goal for last year was to run a 5k. Being pregnant for the first half and recovering from a c-section and a third child for the second half put a damper on that idea. In February of this year I signed up to participate in the Color Vibe 5k and Martin said he'd come with me. Although life got ahead of me and I wasn't even close to prepared, I still was excited for it to be here.

I didn't do as well as I hoped, but I finished and I didn't even finish last. :) I ended up walking majority of the course, but had a great time!

I'm so glad Mart came with me to support me, even though I slowed him way down. :) My goal is still to run a 5k from start to finish with no walking, but you have to start somewhere! At least it was a fun one. :)

Baby Lucas!

This is a little late, but back in April I threw Kace and her sister in law Lou a joint 3rd baby, baby celebration party! Lou already has two little girls and is expecting another little girl in August, and Kace has two little boys and was expecting her third little boy. They already had everything they needed, so we just wanted to celebrate.

I decided on the theme Little Mr & Little Miss, bows & bow ties. Lou made me the invitations and we went from there. They turned out super cute!

Lou and Kace. :)

This photo didn't turn out very well, but I made a bow banner with the same fabrics as in the invitation. It was pretty cute.

What pregnant woman doesn't need some treats??

Sweet baby Lucas was born April 29 and is adorable. I don't have pictures of just him yet, just him with my kids. :) Jade wasn't sure what she thought about Ethan holding another baby.

Ethan LOVES babies, and fell instantly in love with Lucas.

Welcome to the world cute little man!

Last soccer game

Ethan had his last soccer game Mother's day weekend. The weather was awesome and the kids were having a blast. Ethan hadn't scored a goal the entire season and really really wanted too. The other team was doing really well and had scored a lot of goals, but our team hadn't scored any this game. Toward the end, I thought I should start recording a little to show Mart since he was at the farmer's market and as soon as I set my video to record, it all fell into place and Ethan scored his first goal, and the only goal for his team that game! It was awesome!

They had a lot of fun, and it was fun to see Ethan involved in something like this. He loved his coach and I think he's excited to play again next season. :)

The coach: Ashley Crookston
The kids: Austin, Anne, Evan, Spencer, Ethan, Raylee, Delta (and her twin sister Emma wasn't there)

May 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th.

Wow, what a week. I had good intentions of waking up on the 13th and taking all my photos for the day. It was a rough day. I only got a few in. I woke up on the 14th with good intentions of taking 14 photos, and well, it still didn't happen. I think you get the point. So this month, here are 16 photos covering the 13-16th. :)

Lincoln has shown almost zero interest in potty training. I pushed Ethan so hard and it was a war for a very VERY long time. I wasn't about to venture into that again, so I have been just sitting back and waiting for him to show some interest in being ready. On the 13th he finally added two new stickers to his chart.  (Update as of the 20th *Over the last couple of days, he finally seemed to catch on and now has 15 stickers! At least six are new as of today. :) Maybe there is an end in sight!*

I peaked in on the boys playing

Mart forgot his lunch, so I packed him one and we drove it out to his work and sat with him while he ate.

Almost everyday before putting Jade down for a nap, we have play time and the two of us just play on her floor for a little while. She's getting anxious to start standing on her own

The boys and I went through the carwash

The Young Women asked to borrow sewing machines and sergers for an activity, and than needed some extra hands helping the girls sew maxi skirts. I stayed and helped out. I got my serger for Christmas and haven't had a chance to use it yet, so this lucky little lady got to use it for the very first time!

I went out to mow my lawn, but didn't want green feet. I know, it's super cute. :)

Treat time!

The weather has been awesome now that it has finally stopped raining!

Love watching her sleep. :)

Hard to read, but Grandma left a note for the kids on the porch. "Grandma LOVES Ethan, Lincoln & Jade"

Friday the 16th, there was a patient who brought a couple of guns into the Specialty Hospital ER (right next to the school) and when he showed them ended up being shot 3 times. To be cautious, the hospital and the elementary school were both on lock down until they could clear the surrounding area. It all happened right before school started, and it was chaotic. Kids were walking to school and not being let in the building, other kids were inside and not allowed out. (That one makes sense...) but the kids who were outside were being sent back home. (Super strange and scary if there had really been a situation). They finally contacted all families, after the lock down was officially over. I'm very thankful that everyone was okay, and the school and law enforcement handled everything very well. The only thing they struggled with was informing parents in a timely manner, which I'm sure they will work on now that they know there are bugs in the system. Anyway, it was my last day to volunteer in Ethan's class, and when I arrived the Principal was outside giving an interview for the local news station.

After school Martin and the boys took off on the father son campout. Jade and I went to a girls night only dinner with Kace, Ber and Brianne (their cousin). I stopped and rented a movie on the way home and put Jade to bed and had some Kelsie time!

What a week. Next month, I will attempt to at least get all my photos taking on one day instead of 4. :)

10 months

*4 new teeth, well 3 and 1 just barely poking out
*Starting to try and stand without help
*FINALLY talks gibberish all the time
*Loves Mart! When he gets home, her eyes are on him all the time
*Love Ethan and Linc. She bounces and squeals whenever they talk to her
*Moved up to size 2 diapers, but would still easily fit in size 1
*Moved up to size 6-9 month clothes, but still easily fits in size 3-6 month clothes
*She learned how to clap and loves to clap anytime anybody does anything
*She also pats her hand on her mouth and makes noises
*She says Mom Mom Mom, Dad Dad, Yeah! and I swear I heard her say Ethan and Lincoln (or her version of it) once.
*Ethan can still make her smile and laugh with almost no effort

The bigger she gets, the harder it is to get a decent photo of her. She wiggles like a maniac! I don't think she ever just holds still, even when she's sleeping.

It took forever for one of her front teeth to poke through, it finally did. She looked a little silly for a few weeks until it poked through. Here she is showing off her silly smile and her new hand clapping trick.

Showing me her new teeth! (And man, they are sharp!)

Here is one example of why she's so hard to take pictures of lately. I snap one picture and then she gets up and does this. I sit her back down and it starts all over again. :) Love this silly, wiggly little stink bug!

New Backyard!

When we moved to North Logan, one of the biggest reasons I was homesick for Richmond was that I no longer had a fenced off backyard to let my kids and my dogs run free.  A year after we moved in, my mom made a huge change to this house and we fenced off a portion of the backyard! I think it has made a HUGE difference. I think instead of just a huge piece of land in the back, it now looks better and each section has a reason. It has been awesome!

When we called the fence company, they quoted me 4-6 weeks before they could come out and do our fence. We wanted to get on their schedule asap so they could start whenever. Two days later they were at my house digging post holes. 1 week after we called them initially, we had a completed fence! They did an awesome job and I love it!

Day 1: Digging fence posts

Lincoln checking out the new backyard and his fenced off area.

Day 2: (Three days later) finishing the fence, minus the gate locks. We weren't expecting them so fast, and we purchased locking latches separately and they weren't there yet.

Day 3: (2 days or so later, they finished on a Friday so it was the following Monday) They showed back up to install the locking latches! Finished and awesome!

My dogs were so excited to be able to run free and stretch their legs.

After Kya had explored for a few minutes, she promptly dropped to the ground and rolled all over with a huge smile on her face!

Stella eventually realized that she was stuck, and wanted to be on my side of the fence. :)

It has been awesome in the mornings while I am getting ready. The boys can just go outside and run and they are locked inside of the fence so I don't need to worry about them taking off.
