I went in for my hernia repair surgery on November 19th in the morning. The doctor said it was complicated but it went well. I'm sure it's nothing like they imagined it to be. He said the holes were larger than they anticipated. They ended up getting one large piece of mesh for both hernias and sewing my muscles around it.
I was given a 20lb weight limit restriction for 6 weeks and sent home later that day. I was left with about 5-6" of staples running vertical up my belly right through my belly button and a gross tube hooked to a large plastic balloon of sorts that was a draining tube. I have a picture of my belly the day before it all got pulled out, but it's pretty gross looking and I'm not sure I want to post it. My belly looks pretty bad after all it has been through recently. It kind of looks like a saggy deflated balloon...but at least it doesn't hurt anymore!
Anyway, I had the tube and staples in for 10 days and just had them pulled out on the 29th. I had also been sleeping on my couch that entire time because I was unable to get myself in and out of my bed and had to be propped up. I have been able to sleep, somewhat propped up in my own bed the last two nights and it has been so nice!
I haven't hurt as much since all the hardware was removed and have been feeling so much better. I also haven't taken any pain killers since monday. I'm excited to know that this will all be behind me very soon!

Christmas Preview
On my birthday, Mart and George dragged out all our Christmas decorations and put up my Christmas tree.
We let Ethan decorate his own Christmas tree, in hopes that he'll leave ours alone. It doesn't always work, but his always turns out so cute so we keep doing it.
Here is Ethan's tree, part way through

Here he is being a goof with his tree when it was finished. We couldn't get him to stand still long enough to take a picture, so this is the best I have.

Here is our completed tree. Mart did a good job by himself!!

Here is an up close picture of Ethan's finished tree:

And our tree at night with the lights.

Baby Lincoln likes to stare at the lights, so we moved his bouncer underneath it.

Fishing
Another way we've keep Ethan entertained was by playing board games. We found this fishing game up in our game closet that we had bought for him a LONG time ago and have just been waiting for him to get big enough to play with it. He LOVES it! He played with it all day long the day we showed him how.

He even learned out to cheat and catch the fish easier...but I guess since he's only 2, we'll let that slide for now.

He got so excited when he caught his own fish!

Cute boy. He's so fun and has been so cute with Lincoln. I can't believe how grown up he's getting. Some days I look at him and ask Mart when Ethan turned 5.

Lincoln picture update
These are just some pictures of my Lincoln baby.
Traves tried to take some newborn pictures for me, and a couple turned out cute. We are going to try again to get some more.

This one I took one day right before we left our house for .. I can't remember where .. but he was dressed up all cute and I just couldn't resist. :)

He's already getting so big and it is starting to make me sad! I love big boys to play with...but I love them when they are super tiny too. I'm just not quite ready for him to grow up yet. I guess it's unavoidable, but I wish it didn't have to happen so fast.

Fort
Another Mart has been keeping Ethan entertained in the house while I was recovering was to build forts out of big boxes we've been saving for Christmas stuff. Ethan thought this was a blast! His dad is full of all sorts of fun ideas. :)

They would makes sure to build a window in their fort so they could poke their heads through and say hi. Kya liked to stick hers through too.

And then after it was all built, Ethan would knock it down and start all over again!
Snow Baby
Ethan has been so cooped up the last couple of weeks with me being laid up recovering after my surgery. George has been nice and has been coming over to play with him and keeping him company. It snowed "The biggest blizzard we have gotten in the last decade!" (which wasn't actually that bad) leaving Ethan lots of fluffy white stuff to go play in. He LOVES the snow.

Helping George shovel our driveway

These next ones were a few days later helping Dad and George once again clean our driveway and pathway. These are the ones after the crazy "blizzard"

Family Pictures, Nov 14
We attempted to get a semi decent self timer family pictures a couple weeks ago. They turned out okay, at least it's something with all 4 of us in it. :)
We are going to take new Christmas family pictures with our tree this weekend, hopefully those will turn out a little better. Until then, here are some updated ones of us!
All 4 of us (I still can't believe we are now a 4 sometimes...weird!)

Mart and his boys (You'll be surprised when I post the new ones we are taking this weekend ... that's all I'm going to say right now)

Me and my boys:

Ethan decided to have a rough moment after we were done, so this is the best I got of just him. I also attempted some of just Ethan and Lincoln, but Ethan has a bright red blotchy face in all those pictures

My sweet new angel nearly 1 month old!

Boots
The other day Ethan took a shower and when he got out he wanted to go outside. The next thing I know I hear some clunking and clomping and in comes Ethan ready to go outside.

I can't get over how old he looks in these pictures! Ever since my baby was born, he went from a small little boy to like a 5 year old! I can't believe how big he's getting. I sure love him!

Brotherly Love
Ethan has started to take an interest in the baby. He likes to hold him now and is always in his face. I glance in the living room sometimes and Ethan is leaning over Lincoln trying to shove the binki back in his mouth or just talking to him. Sometimes when he cries Ethan will walk over and "shh" him. It's pretty funny.
These are two pictures of the first time Ethan held the baby after we brought him home from the hospital:

This is Ethan shushing the baby:

Ethan is a big hug and kiss fan, so he now likes to give "Baby Lincoln" hugs and kisses too!

He also has this thing with petting his head.

I love my cute boys and I'm so glad that Lincoln is finally here!

Pajama Party
Halloween!
We had been debating for quite a while what to have Ethan be for Halloween. We wanted something cute but not a costume that you can just go buy at Walmart for a 2 year old. As I am a super huge Harry Potter fan, and with the new movie coming out in a couple weeks we decided to make little Ethan ... Harry Potter!
He was super cute and everywhere we took him people would comment on his costume. I think little kids are just so cute in costumes and this one was no different.
That morning we got Ethan all dressed up to take him to the mall and to Lee's.
Getting all ready:

After seeing him with black hair, Mart and I both decided that it was good his hair turned from dark to light after he was born, because he just doesn't look right with dark hair anymore!

Kace, Ryan and Ber joined us in trick or treating at the mall. It was kind of a waste of time except for the fact that Ethan had a good time. We stood in a huge line to just walk around in a circle at the mall. A good chunk of the stores were either not participating or were out of candy, so it was basically a costume parade.
After walking about halfway around the mall we decided to be finished and head to Lee's.
We had to get a picture of Ber and Ethan, she was the one who made his cloak for him. It was super adorable!

All dressed up and ready to go trick or treating that night! I'm glad we chose an outfit that could be super warm, because it was raining when we headed out!

Yes, that is a drum stick. We couldn't find his wand the day of Halloween! We did in fact find it, yesterday.

We got in the car and headed over to Grandma Erm's house so Ethan could go trick or treating with Jordan and Garrett (my nephews), Kira and Jaden (my cousins) and Dallin and Preston (my cousin's cute twins). We also had Bryce, Kristie, Linds, Brandon, Traves, Kace, Mart and myself along for the fun as well.
Ethan had a blast! He thought it was so much fun going door to door asking for treats. We gave up on his glasses about halfway through the night and ended up losing them all together after Ethan dropped his bucket a few times. Good thing I got some pictures before we headed out!

I know this picture is a little blurry, but the look on Ethan's face was so cute and showed how much fun he was having so I decided to post it anyway.

It's tradition to visit the robot house when you go trick or treating in my Grandma's neighborhood, but the man who runs the robot I guess is really really sick so the robot wasn't moving and handing out treats this year, he just sat in the background.

All in all it was a good Halloween! I was super glad it stopped raining right after we started so no one got really wet and everyone had a good time.
