Ethan really liked playing soccer this past spring, so we signed him up again. Because he was 6 months older, he was put on an older all boy team with kids who actually play in positions and know what they are doing. I was really nervous that he would just be sitting on the grass picking dandelions, but he had a really good time! His team was much better this season and it was fun to watch them get more confident and play really well. Ethan's favorite position was the goalie, and he even improved on that a lot toward the end.
He started off the season completely weird and during his first game he was just walking around shoving people and pretty much tackling them to the ground. Not just the other team, his team as well. It was totally bizarre. We had LOTS of chats about what to do and not do during soccer and he caught on and had no problems with that again.
Jade thought games were fun because she got to sit in her own chair and eat as many snacks as she could shovel in her mouth!
Mid season we took Ethan to get new socks. He insisted on orange. It made it much easier to spot him running down the field!
Mart got more into the games this season, yelling advice and being a true soccer Dad. Ha. At one point in this game, a kid took a ball or tripped someone or something and he yelled out "I completely approve of that!" It was really funny. I told him he should probably never be a coach.
Great season Fire Balls! You did an awesome job!
