Workshop

Mart has made our garage into a wood workshop and every Friday Traves will come over and they will work on projects. A month or so ago Traves made both of them new aprons. Here are the boys working out the the workshop.

Playing in the leaves

I love the fall and this year our fall was definitely not long enough. Ethan loves to play in dirt, water, with sticks, rocks, etc. Pretty much anything he can find outside. We thought he would love to play with the leaves as well. The first time we took him outside he was so grumpy he hated playing in the leaves. We would throw leaves on each other and it drove him crazy if anybody had any leaves stuck on them so he would spend 5 minutes picking them off of us. The second time we took him out to play, he liked the leaves a whole lot more. He actually played in them. The fact that they stuck to clothes did bother him again, but it didn't take all of his attention this time. What a funny boy.

Mart and Ethan blowing all the leaves to the center of the yard. We have a huge tree so we have a ton of leaves!

This is the second time we had him outside playing in them when he actually played.

After he finished playing with the leaves, he just sat under the tree playing with some dirt in a little hole that Sophie dug.

Halloween!

I have been so busy I'm finally getting around to updating my blog like crazy. Here are my Halloween pictures from this year. This year Ethan was Little Frankenstein and Mart was Mario. Ethan was so cute and so funny to take trick or treating. It was so much fun now that he was big enough to actually go out and do something.

Ethan all dressed up so I could take some pictures before we left.

Frankenstein and Mario

Can you tell how much he loves his daddy?

Ethan walking down the sidewalk holding his bucket. He wouldn't let anyone touch his candy bucket, he held it the entire time.

The first couple of houses we went to Ethan wasn't sure about what was going on or if he liked it. Once he figured out that if you knock on a door someone will open it and give you a treat he though it was awesome! He would barge up to the door and bang on it over and over again until someone opened the door and gave him a treat.

I love this picture because he's just so tiny and he was just banging away on the door before my niece and cousin even got to the door.

In my Grandma's neighborhood they have had a house that has a robot answer the door and they've had it since I was little. We took Ethan to it to see it again and it's pretty cool. He will roll up to the door and holds out a plate of treats, and then it talks to you and says "Happy Halloween!". It startled Ethan a little, but it didn't scare him.

Another one of Ethan's favorite parts, besides being given treats like crazy, was the fact that his bucket was full of treats and he could snack on them while he was walking.

It was a fun night and Ethan was so cute and so much fun to take trick or treating. Traves came with us too and we just hung out. In the end, Ethan had his whole bucket probably about 3/4 of the way full with treats, a huge pixy stick and a toothbrush. When we got home I weighed it to see how much weight he was carrying around the entire night and it weighed about 2 1/2 pounds! That's just under a 10th of his body weight! What a trooper.

First Dam

I completely forgot to blog about this and was reminded when I saw the pictures the other day on my computer. Mart works at Hot Topic as a side job and they had a small get together/party thing at first dam the end of September. We took a loaf of bread and Ethan to feed the ducks. Ethan LOVES ducks! We take him to the zoo and that's all he ever wants to look at and he talks about ducks all day long at home. He thought the ducks at first dam were awesome!
It was freezing and the water was so cold so we only stayed for about an hour, but while we were there we let Ethan feed the ducks some bread.

We started throwing small piece of bread into the water and the ducks slowly got closer to us. Ethan loved watching the ducks swim closer to us.

The more bread we threw, the closer they got.

Until they were about 2 feet away.

And then they got a little too close for comfort.

And took over our spot on the beach!

After they took over the beach the big ones in front came up on the lawn and toward our picnic table. I hate birds, they freak me out! I didn't like that they were coming that close to me so I kept running away. Everyone thought it was funny. Eventually one of the girls Mart works with chased them all away.

It was pretty funny to watch the ducks just swarm the bread. Ethan loved being that close to the ducks, he tried to hug them when they came on the beach. When it gets warm again, I am definitely going to take him back there.

Jabber Bug

Ethan thinks the phone is pretty awesome. He loves to just sit and jabber on it. The other day we had him hold Kacean's phone while Mart went in the other room and called him. He was so funny to just sit and watch, he was just chatting away.

And this picture is just me and Ethan. We don't have a lot of pictures together and this one turned out okay. My little baby is growing up! He's getting to be such a big boy.

"Hug!"

Today Ethan and I were hanging out in the living room, and I looked up at him and said "kiss?" and he finally ran over and gave me a big smooch. I lucked out and he did it 3 or 4 more times. He rarely gives kisses, but when he does he gives lots in a row then doesn't give anymore for a few more weeks. After he was finished with kisses he was standing by my tv and I looked at him, spread my arms out and said "hug?" and he ran into my arms and gave me a big hug. After he was done giving me a hug he ran back to the tv, spread out his arms and asked me "hug?" after I replied with "hug?" he would run forward and leap into my arms and give me a big hug.

I love days like this!

Toothbrush

Ethan absolutely loves to brush his teeth! He thinks that his toothbrush is one of the coolest things. Every morning while Kacean brushes her teeth, Ethan sits on the counter next to her and brushes his at the same time.

He loves to put his toothbrush back into the running water and continue brushing his teeth with the water. He figured out how to turn the sink on so he can rinse it out himself.

Piggy Bank

Home depot has a kids build just like Lowes, except theirs is once a month instead of twice a month. This month, they built a firehouse piggy bank. After Mart and Ethan came home from building it, Mart found a handful of change to give Ethan to try it out. He thought that was so much fun! He loves putting the coins through the slots and then opening it back up and putting them in again. He's getting so big, I can't believe he's already able to do things like this. It seems like only yesterday that he was learning to sit up and now he's a crazy little man.

Daddy's Boy

Mart has a huge thing for trucker hats! I couldn't even guess how many he already has. He was at the DI a couple weeks ago and found matching Pirate hats so he bought one for him and Ethan. He sure loves that little boy, I love watching them together. Ethan is definitely a major daddy's boy.

Yay!

Ethans has a new movie. It has switched from Tarzan to both Toy Story movies. When you push the play button option on the menu screen, the little aliens shout "Yay!" before it moves on to the movie. Ethan has recently decided that he likes to copy them and it cracks me up.
