After the letter parade was over, all the kids had a pizza party in the cafeteria.
And after the pizza party, they had a huge school wide surprise. Earlier in the year, one of the students in the school (1st grade I think??) was diagnosed with leukemia and has been battling it all year. He was at the school this day and they had arranged a big surprise for him.
"Brigham, for the win!"
While I am not big into sports or anything, I was so overwhelmed with emotions being there for this part. The doors opened and Aggie Football players and the mascot came storming in and onto the stage. Then they lifted Brigham up and gave him a signed football. The smile on his face was amazing to watch.
When they were finished, they went through the crowd saying hi to all the kids.
It was an amazing experience, and I'm glad I got to be apart of it.
About a week ago, for his final project Ethan was given an assignment do to a report on a bug. He was given the leaf footed bug. We were to answer a couple of questions and then make him a mask and then he would stand up and tell the class about his bug. I had a minor mishap when I stayed up all night long making the wrong bug mask ... and then had to start all over again, but it ended up turning out great. :)
Ethan wanted to make a bug too. :)
Ethan showing me his mask right before his report.
He answered all the questions and did an awesome job!
At the beginning of the year, Mrs. Skidmore had come to meet us and told us that this year she would have her class be her Kinder-garden class. :) For her thank you present, we painted her a pot that she can use every year.
And Ethan made her a card.
She has been such a fantastic teacher, and I was so choked up at the thought of him moving to another class.
Ethan on the last day of kindergarten! He's officially a 1st grader, and I am terrified.
To celebrate, we took him to get some Aggie ice cream. (His choice!)
I'm so proud of my little man and can not believe he's already in 1st grade. Stop growing child!
