Soccer

We signed Ethan up for soccer and he has been so excited for it to start! We found out that my old visiting teaching partner was going to be his coach, and that put my mind a little more at ease. She is crazy busy, so they have only had one practice and just have two games a week until the middle of may.

His first game he was so excited, but nervous at the same time!

He had never played soccer and pretty much knew nothing about it. He did really well considering. The hardest part for him was keeping his arms down and not pushing people. At one point he finally got the ball, but was facing the wrong direction. He stopped, picked up the ball, turned around, set it down and started heading toward his goal. It was so funny, and I wish I had a video of him doing it.

He also played the entire game with a HUGE grin on his face! It was so fun to watch him have so much fun.

The kid in blue was crazy good, and super fast!

Ethan had a blast! I think this will be really good for him. I am excited to keep watching him figure it out and have a great time!

Jade thought it was a little boring, but was such a good girl!

Lincoln didn't even really know that there was a soccer game going on, he played on the playground the entire time and loved it!

Kace, Tyler, Zack, Ber and Dallan all came to watch. Dallan spent a while pushing Tyler and Lincoln on the swings. He would run laps pushing one boy at a time. It was funny to watch.

Bring it on soccer season! Still hard to believe he's old enough to play ... :)

April 14

The 13th happened to be a Sunday this month, and it was crazy. By the time I remembered I was supposed to take pictures all day long, it was bedtime and the kids were almost in bed. I just switched days and did the 14th instead this month.

The boys were playing Heman in the morning with their satchels. :) (The boys have been obsessed with satchels ever since watching Tangled)

On Sunday my kitty turned 9 years old! It's hard to believe I've had him that long.

A small moment of peace when the boys were once again playing together instead of fighting over everything

I caught my sweet Kya staring longingly out the window into the yard. I'm sure she's so anxious to just get out and be able to run! Soon pretty dog, soon.

Once Ethan was at school and settled, I had a chance to work for a few minutes.

My tiny one likes to snack while I am working. :)

This little munchkin is filled with an abundance of heightened emotions. One minute he can be laughing and full of excited energy, and the next minute he can be distraught and beyond sad. When we picked Ethan up from school, Lincoln wanted to climb on the trees in front of the elementary. I was in a hurry to get home and told him not today. (He had been throwing fits consistently for the last hour or so, I knew he was tired) He had just finished throwing a big fit when he asked and when I told him no, he just lost it. He cried about every tiny thing the entire walk back home and while I was making him something to eat. Then he cried about his lunch too.

This was seriously 5 minutes or less later. After he actually tried his lunch, he calmed right now and was perfectly content.

My sweet Jade taking a nap

That evening my personal landscaping crew showed up (ha ha!) and we cleaned up the yard to prep for the FENCE GUYS! They were coming to put in posts the following morning!

While we did yard work, Lincoln practiced his skateboarding skills.

And Grandma gave both boys a light key chain.

Later that night, Ethan wanted a snack and went for the cheese sticks. He thought it was so bizarre that the company forgot to put a piece of cheese in one of the wrappers!

Bike

A couple weeks ago we had a sad night when Lincoln's cute trike got run over by one of the office employees. It was his favorite outside toy. I know it was completely our fault, but it still made me upset. This was our super nice trike that we had gotten Ethan for Christmas one year and had gotten a nice one to last through all of our kids. :(

I think my mom felt bad, because the next day (or two ?? ) later she showed up and took all of us to the store to look at new bikes! She ended up getting both boys new bikes and they were beyond thrilled! They both chose a bike that was like a dirt bike and had a handle that made it sound like they were revving up the engine.

Although he doesn't look happy or excited in this picture, he really was! (He hasn't had very good facial expression in photos lately ...)

The minute we got home and got the bikes unloaded the geared up and headed off down the block. Grandma was helping Lincoln try and figure out how to pedal a big boy bike!

What cute spoiled boys they are, and what a fun grandma they both have!

RIP cute old trike.

I love this little lady! She's such a sweetheart. She has finally decided that she's attached to her dad and the second he gets home from work she wants to go see him. Before bed she needs to harass him and play with his face for a few minutes and then she'll be ready for sleeping. She eats super good and loves pretty much anything I give her. Hard to believe she's already 9 months!
