8 months

Lincoln turns 9 months on Thursday, so I probably should get an 8 month picture up before then. :)

I can't believe that Lincoln is 8 months old! He's growing so fast and is so sweet. He has been a little cranky lately. I'm sure it's because he has some teeth coming in. I am not positive, but he's getting anywhere from 2-4 teeth at the same time! Poor little man.

He's still just a tiny little thing. He has been working on crawling and is so close! It'll be anytime now.

Some facts about Lincoln:

*He has two teeth and is working on 2-4 more at the moment. They are the top front teeth.
*He is still wearing a size 2 diaper
*He is wearing 6-9 month clothes now (and very select 3-6 month clothes!)
*He LOVES Ethan!
*Ethan totally loves him too!
*He is a pretty good little eater. He likes just about all the food I give him, with a few exceptions. He doesn't really like peas (or the mixed vegetables with peas in it) and green beans are give and take. Some days he likes them, other days he doesn't. He doesn't like oatmeal quite as much as he used to, so I should probably push him harder to eat more of it.

He's totally a sweet baby and I love having him around.

Best Buds

Ethan has seemed to like Lincoln for the most part from day one. Maybe not as much as he could have in the beginning, but the bigger Lincoln gets, the more Ethan starts to like him. Lincoln totally adores Ethan, and they are turning into best friends!

I sure love my boys and are so incredibly grateful they are in my life. They may be difficult some days, make my life crazy stressful, and make me look like a frazzled crazy person, but I love them and can't imagine my life without them.

On the move

He's not there yet, but he's getting so close. If he wants something across the room, he'll roll until he gets there. He is starting to show some interest in crawling though, he gets up on his arms and scoots his legs kind of funny, so it won't be long now until he's figured it out.

Karaoke

Sometimes when I am washing dishes or making lunch, I crank the music and just let loose. I sing and dance around the kitchen. Ethan usually just watches me like I'm crazy, but this time I gave him his own spoon and he joined in on the fun.

Game Night

Game night is on!

We have started a game night that will happen every weekend. Mart has built a game night trophy that someone will win once a month. Each month they will bring it back and we will play for it again.

The board on the front reads: "The I'm awesome, "in your face", this trophy gives me bragging rights, sudden death, blazing glory!"

This past weekend we played and Kacean was the lucky one to take home the trophy.

Mart handing off his creation.

She has been asking when we were going to start playing games so she could win the trophy for the last couple of weeks. I think she was pretty pumped that it was finally hers! :)

6 years baby!

At the end of last month, Martin and I celebrated our 6th year anniversary! My mom and her friend Debi watched our boys, while we went and stayed the weekend in Salt Lake, kid free. :)
It was really nice to just be able to hang out and not worry about what our children were doing. We went out to eat at Buca di Beppo the night we arrived and walked around the gateway mall. The next morning we got up and went to the Salt Lake temple to do some sealings. (This was our actual anniversary). That was really fun, but really busy! They were telling us that there were 61 weddings that day. After the temple, we went and saw Pirates of the Caribbean 4, walked around the gateway again and then went to the London Market and got ready for dinner. We ended up at the melting pot and had a huge meal, which was totally delicious. The next morning we just slept in and enjoyed the last few hours child free. We were both excited to see our boys after the weekend, but had a good time just hanging out together.

Martin and I have come a long way since we starting hanging out in high school. (I can't believe how little Jordan is in this picture! He's now 10!)

This was at Mart's graduation party. Ha ha!

One of our engagement pictures.

Our wedding. (Obviously).

We've been through a lot the last 9 or so years since we've known each other. I look forward to the rest of our journey! Happy anniversary Mart! I love you!

Dress up

When we got home from church, I took my shoes off in the kitchen and left them there for a few minutes while I helped Lincoln. I turned around to see Ethan putting them on. Martin didn't think it was very funny ... but I did.
It reminds me of the time George did the same thing. George was incredibly exhausted and it was hilarious. Ethan was just being cute.

Maybe this wouldn't be quite so weird if I had a little girl. :)

I think he walks in them about as good as I do.

Reminiscing

Today I was talking with Kace, and started reminiscing about school. Not USU school, but the BATC kitchens.

This place.

I really felt at home there. The only other classroom I really felt at home in was the ceramics lab at Sky View High.

I really loved going to school there. I really loved going to school to cook and do something fun everyday. I really loved taking a small break from Ethan and cleaning all day long. I missed him like crazy, but it was a nice break.

I have always felt like a shy person who has a hard time opening up and just letting loose. I think I opened up really fast at school, and because of it, I had a great time. I never considered myself a popular kid, or a popular person ... but once I opened up, sure I was liked, but probably never the "favorite" or anything like that. There are times in my life when I still feel completely left out. I'm sure sometimes I am overreacting, but sometimes it really gets to me. When I think about it, sometimes I think that's why I've become such a hermit. It's just easier that way.

At school I felt like the popular kid. Everyone flocked to me when I walked in the door. It made it even more fun. I had a lot of friends there and I looked forward to seeing them everyday.

There was a joke at school that started on my first day, but it became sort of my motto for that class. "I'm kind of a big deal around here." I would say it often with a huge grin on my face, and keep on smiling the rest of the day. Yes, it was crazy stressful at times, but I did really enjoy it. I wish one day I could go back and finish my program completely. I just don't know how to do that with two children. Maybe one day.

Babysitting

Could it get any easier than this?

I think not.

Too bad this part doesn't last very long.

7 months

I can't believe my little man is 7 months old! He's just a tiny little guy, and so incredibly sweet! Ethan was and is totally a Dad's little boy ... but Lincoln is all mine! He is definitely a Mama's boy.

Anyway, Lincoln's stats for this appointment:

Height: 26.75" - 50%
Head: 44cm - 50%
Weight: 15 lb 7 oz - 5-10%

The doctor says we need to fatten him up. :)

He got a couple of shots and had a not very fun reaction to them. It didn't help that he's cutting a tooth, so he was awfully irritable for a few days. He's feeling much better now, which is very nice.

*Lincoln is still wearing size 2 diapers, which are still a bit big on him. I put him in a size 1 the other day because I had a sample, and it fit just fine. Maybe I should go back down a size.
*He still wears select size 3-6 month clothes and some 6-9 month clothes. Some of the 6-9 month clothes are way too big on him still. Like I said, he's just a tiny little thing.
*If he wants something on the floor, he will roll to it, or get up on his hands and do this weird scoot and twist movement to get to it. He hasn't quite gotten the hang of getting up on his knees yet. It doesn't help that my house is always busy with 4 animals and Ethan ... so he doesn't get as much floor time as he should.
*He can sit up by himself and balance really well. He can't sit all the time, he'll get off balance and just tip over, but he's getting pretty good.
*He likes most baby foods. He doesn't really like the mixed country veggies, but will eat all those veggies separately.
*We just gave him his first haircut on the 28th of May. The top of his head was getting so long, it was getting hard to spike. Now it's pretty close to even all the way around.
*He ADORES Ethan. He watches him all day long and laughs at all the silly things he does. Ethan totally adores him too. He's always paying attention to what he is doing, and if he drops a toy or loses a binki or something, he is there to pick it up and give it back to him. What a cute big brother. :)

And now on to the fun part . . . the photo-documentation

This picture is a little strange, but it kind of shows just how small he is. These are his brand new 6-9 month pj's. (keep in mind, he's 7 months old so he should fit in them really well). Not even pulling or anything, the elastic waistband sticks out a good 1"-1 1/2".

This is not the best picture, or the most recent ... but he won't let me near his teeth at the moment. This shows his first tooth. It's much bigger than that now, and the new one coming in is right next to it and it's about the size of the one in this picture.

Showing off how he can sit up by himself.

He was watching Ethan in this picture. Ethan was trying to make him laugh.
