Yay!

Ethans has a new movie. It has switched from Tarzan to both Toy Story movies. When you push the play button option on the menu screen, the little aliens shout "Yay!" before it moves on to the movie. Ethan has recently decided that he likes to copy them and it cracks me up.

Ghetto Slide

Ethan loves to be outside. If it's rainy and he's stuck inside, he will sit on the back of the couch and stare out the window all day long. One of his favorite things to do outside is go to the park and slide down the slides. We were playing with Ethan outside the other day probably about an hour before it was going to get dark. We have a roof that touches our grass that covers our pantry and Ethan sometimes sits on it and trys to slide. I'm afraid one day he'll rip his pants right open on those shingles! Anyway, it was getting darker and we didn't have a lot of time to take him to the park, so we decided to make our own slide..we call it the ghetto slide.

We found a tarp and draped it over the pantry roof. One of us sat at the top and helped Ethan climb up. Ethan thought it was so much fun! He didn't care one bit that we didn't have a real slide. He played on that slide until it got dark.

He was so funny to watch climb up the roof, he would get on all fours and spiderclimb up to his dad or me at the top.

Here is a full view of our ghetto slide.

Here is a video of him playing on the slide.

This next one is him spider crawling up the roof.

It's wasn't a real slide, but Ethan had a lot of fun playing on it. When we took the tarp down, he threw a royal tantrum. He threw himself onto the grass and starting kicking and screaming. I guess we'll have to do this a couple more times before it snows.

Kacean and Ethan

Kacean has been watching Ethan while I am at school. He LOVES to play with her and she's starting to get a rather big softspot for him as well. She's really really good with him and I couldn't think of anyone better for him to hang out with while we are both gone during the day.

The other day we were playing in the backyard while it was still sunny and warm, and Kace decided to put Ethan in his toy bucket and wheel him around on the patio. He thought that was pretty funny. After she pulled him out, he tried climbing back in.

So we put him back in and let him play a little longer. He's like one of those tiny chinese acrobats that can fit in a shoe box! He just folded right in half.

These next pictures are just some of Kace and Ethan playing while I was at school and I thought they were cute.

Ladybug

In the back corner of my living room, I have a small granite table that Martin made me to match my coffee table (which is not out right now). The couches block it in so that Ethan didn't play on it. Well, he's figured out how to climb over the couches to stand/sit/climb, etc... on the table. He likes to play with the lamp shade and whatever else is on the table at that time. The other day I caught him reading and just sitting on the edge of the table. He was reading the word search book. What a goof ball.

A while back I had some fresh cut sunflowers from my garden in my kitchen and we looked over and saw a lady buy crawling on the leaves. We wanted to show it to Ethan. He really liked it, but at the same time he wasn't too sure about it. He didn't want to touch it so we put it back on the flower and he would scream so we'd have to get it for him again. He eventually let us put it on his arm for a minute. He thought it was pretty neat.

Lowes Kid Build

I posted a while ago about Ethan going to Lowes and building stuff every couple of weeks. Here are a couple pictures of him building his school bus a couple weeks ago. He thought it was great fun! Last week he made a drum all by himself! Mart held the pieces together while Ethan hammered away. He's getting the hang of the hammer and is getting pretty good at it!

Little Booger

Ethan is such a little booger. He loves to get into things he's not supposed to, just like all other kids. For like a week straight, all he wanted to do was pull my couch apart. He thought it was great fun.

He also is a kid that doesn't really like to play with toys, but play with things like rocks, sticks, playing cards, toothbrushes, wires, buttons, and anything weird seems to catch his interest. Well Mart was using one of those flossing/toothpicks and Ethan thought that was the neatest thing he'd ever seen so Mart started picking Ethan's teeth and he couldn't get enough of it! He thought that was so fun!

The last week and a half I have been sick and Ethan and I have been sharing it all week. Over the weekend, Mart woke up with Ethan in the morning to let me sleep in and when I woke up they were both crashed on the couch.

And finally, I made grilled herb butter corn on the cob from our garden and Ethan thought it was great! I don't know if he just liked that he could hold it and make a mess or if he actually thought it tasted good. Who knows. Cute little monster.

Accident Prone

I'm not even kidding when I say this, but I swear this kid NEVER sits still. Not that I'm saying I would rather him be lazy than active, but a little break once in a while would be nice. We are a little worried that he might be getting ADHD already!! Geez. (Okay, not seriously worried, but it's crossed our minds before). When we take him to nursery, all the other little kids will sit down on their chairs or on their little carpet mats when it's singing time or lesson time..but not Ethan. He runs circles around the room during these times. He just can't sit still.

Well because of how active he is, he tends to get himself hurt every now and again which makes me a little worried for the future when his accidents get worse.

Today while I was in the bathroom he started crying pretty hard so I ran out to check on him and he was laying flat on my couch with a little box shelf I have on my wall laying next to him. I picked him up and saw a cut under his eye and a goose egg on his forehead. Poor kid. The good thing is, he really is a tough kid and he can take a lot. A little snuggle and a kiss and he was one his way again.

Ethan

Ethan is turning into such a little boy. He's no longer my baby. Sad. He LOVES to play in his room. If he had to pick anywhere besides his room to play, it would be outside. He likes to crawl up the steep stairs to get to his room any chance he can get.

He also learned a new trick. He learned how to open his bedroom door. That's not a very fun trick when he lives at the top of a steep staircase.

When Ethan was born he was given this cute quilt with farmers and animals on it. He loves to sit and look at it and point out all the animals on it and say what they are and make the animal noise that goes with them. His favorite is the duck.

I think he can find every single duck on the entire quilt. Thanks Trish for the cute quilt! Ethan loves it

Peek-a-boo

Ethan and I were playing in his room a couple days ago, and while he was hiding in the closet, he found a package of dried up baby wipes. He thought it was great fun to pull them out one by one and shove them into his closet.

After he got tired of that, he noticed that he could hide behind the closet doors. He also realized that we could play peek-a-boo!

He thought this game was great fun.

My little Tarzan

Maybe this is a sign that he watches this movie too much. :)
