"Cheese!"

Lately, every time I have been getting out the camera, Ethan's face is right up in it. I don't know if it's the new edition of an external flash I had to add because my built in stopped working, or if he's just reached the "cheese!" stage where kids love to have their pictures taken with a crazy look on their face. Whatever reason he does it for, it cracks me up. Here are a few "cheese!" moments from the last few days.

These next two happen to be double cheese faces! Cottage cheese and "cheese!".

Window

Just about every time Ethan is playing in the living room and I look in on him, this is what I see.

The cat is usually fast asleep in this same spot. He loves to copy the animals.

Workshop

Ethan still loves his workshop! I'm sure part of it is that Mart is outside working too. I bet he would stay out there all day long if I let him ... and he would come in the house covered head to toe in chalk dust. His favorite thing out there at the moment is the chalkboard that is as tall as he is. He won't draw on paper with crayons, but he sure likes huge chalkboards!

"I'm this tall..."

He loves drawing on chalkboards, especially if they are as big as he is!

He drew a heart all by himself. Of course, I had to take a picture.

Happy Birthday Kya!

I know you might think this post is a little pathetic, but I really really love my dog. She was my first kid.
Today is her 3rd birthday! She's such a good dog, I've never met a better dog. Ethan adores all my animals, but Kya puts up with him the best. She will just go along with whatever he is doing to her, whether it be sitting on her, hugging her, kissing her, etc.

Thanks for being such a fantastic dog! Happy Birthday Kya!

Update

Okay this is my last post for today, I know there were quite a lot for one day.

Mart finally got a job! Thank goodness. I'm so happy for him. He's back at a counter top shop he worked at before. He had quit there because of one of the owners, but he was bought out and is no longer there so that's no longer a problem! The same day he started there, he got a call from Icon for an interview, had to turn them down, and a call from his old boss (his most recent counter top job) telling him that they are picking up and he can go back if he would like. He does want to go back there, but only for a few hours. He is staying at Evolution because they offer insurance, where Custom Counter tops does not. He is going to attempt to work it out with both bosses to see if they mind if he works for their competition and just go to Custom for 2 hours a night as a side job to help them out. If he does that, he is going to quit Hot Topic. He works less than 5 hours a week there, which is crazy and minimum wage. So, hopefully that'll work out.

George update: He no longer lives with us again. This time I think it's for good. He just doesn't like to follow rules, he wants to do his own thing, which I can understand. I worry about him, I hope he decides to step up and take care of himself and not do stupid things.

Garden update, week 7

Box 1, week 7: Lettuce is all gone. It was so good! The spinach is almost gone, also so good! The peas are just about ready to pick and everything else is doing great!

Box 2, week 7: The cantaloupe is starting to climb and is now flowering. The broccoli and cauliflower are huge, hopefully they'll flower soon. I have quite a few peppers which are getting close.

Box 3, week 7: My corn is starting to grow the top thingy's [I can't remember what they are called. :)]

Box 4, week 7: My tomato plants are doing great! One has 8 or 9 tomatoes and my turnips are just about ready to eat. My beans are starting to climb the fence.

Yellow squash #2!

100th Post!!

I have reached my 100th post before I have even reached my 1 year mark!

For my 100th post, I will show you what Mart has been making for Ethan today.

As I said in an earlier post, Ethan loves to do anything that Mart is doing. Mart has been working outside in his wood shop a lot lately and there is a lot of stuff for a little boy to get into out there. Ethan was given some toy tools for his birthday and we had bought him some earlier, so Mart decided to make Ethan his own work bench out in the middle of Mart's working space so they can work outside together. Ethan tried it out today and LOVED IT! He's even sporting his Lowe's working apron. So cute!

Random pictures

As my blog is my journal and I will one day have it printed into a book, here are just some random pictures of Ethan.

Ethan LOVES our animals! He torments them like crazy. He's always hugging and kissing them any chance he can get. He also really likes to sit on Kya. He thinks it's funny.

Ethan like his dad, loves treats! Mart shared a couple oreos with him.

Sitting on a bar stool having a snack with his Dad.

He really likes to feed himself. If we try and feed him any other way, he goes bananas. He's even found a small gap between his seat and the counter which he wedges his bowl into so he has easy access to it with his fork.

Mart has been working out in his workshop a lot lately making all sorts of things. He recently made Ethan a ray gun. He thought that was pretty fun.

And last of all, Ethan's favorite movie BY FAR! is Tarzan. I think I would just have it playing 24 hours a day and he would be glued to it. Here are a couple pictures of him watching Tarzan. He's pretty hooked. :) We recently bought him Jungle Book and Robin Hood, hopefully he'll like those when they get here and we can rotate movies.

My little builder

So I guess Lowe's offers kids classes once every two weeks teaching them how to build fun things like boats, buses and pirate ships. Mart had to run to Lowe's today for a 2x4 and when he finished checking out they got in line to try it out. When he checked in for the class, they gave Ethan his own apron and safety glasses and his boat kit! When he finished his boat, he got a patch for his apron and a certificate saying he completed his boat!

What a fun thing for a store to offer! We are definitely taking him back in two weeks to make a bus. Oh yeah, and it's free!! You can't beat that!

Hello?

Ethan has always been a jabber bug, but it's even more fun to listen to him now that it's starting to make more sense.

One of his new favorite games to play is telephone. He will hold anything (including, blocks, a rock, sticks, the IQ 20 questions game, etc..) up to his ear and say "Hello?" Over and over again. He cracks me up.

He really liked it when his dad broke out the walkie talkies.
