L.O.V.E.

I've said it before, and I know I'll say it again ... but these two are best friends! Ethan totally adores his Dad ... and Dad totally adores the little booger.

You know you are in the full swing of summer when ...

This is what your child looks like 100% of the time.

Sometimes when I check on him, I find him washing his hair with dirt.

I suppose I'd rather walk out and see him washing his body with dirt than hearing "Dad! Dad I caught a bug", then lifting his hand up off the ground to show Mart a spider. I'm just grateful I wasn't the one he showed his surprise too. Thanks Kace ... for teaching him it's fun to catch spiders.

There is no doubt about it, I think he's definitely all boy.

9 months

I can't believe that Lincoln is already 9 months! It's still amazes me how fast time flies.

Lincoln's 9 month stats:

Head: 44.5cm - 25%
Height: 28.25" - 50%
Weight: 16lbs 7oz - 3%

He's still just a tiny little thing, but he is growing and doing good.

Random facts for this past month:

*He officially has 6 teeth! Holy buckets that's a lot of teeth for such a little guy.
*He crawls like a maniac
*He pulls up on everything he can touch and tonight he stood for a second by himself. He's growing up way too fast
*He is still wearing a size 2 diaper
*He is finally starting to fit in 6-9 month clothes pretty good and 3-6 month clothes are finally snug on him.
*His first word was Dada! I'm totally jealous ... but I guess I can't complain too much, Ethan said Mama first.
*A few days after he said Dada, he said Dad again. The next day or so he said Mama and hasn't stopped saying it since.
*He is a TOTAL Mama's boy!
*He's been pretty difficult to put to sleep lately and since his teeth all came in and once and he got a fever, and a wicked runny/stuffy nose, he hasn't slept through the night all that great either ... which makes for one tired Mama.
*Ethan can make him laugh ridiculously hard
*He went boating for the first time on the 28th of July, and wasn't quite sure what to think. He didn't like the life jacket and was totally upset when a huge wave came up over the top and crashed right on top of both of us. After that he calmed down and slept the rest of the time.

He's such a good baby and I am so glad he's part of our family.

He loves to stick his tongue out at Mart, who will stick his tongue back out and him.

Showing off all his new teeth

His last tooth came in all the way since this picture was taken.

How to eat chocolate cake 101

Step 1: Find the most frosting covered, messiest cupcake you can possibly find.
Step 2: Lick all the frosting off the top of the cupcake.

Step 3: Once the frosting is all safely stored all over your cheeks, shove the entire cupcake into your mouth...resulting in cake smashing all over your entire face.

Step 4: Realize what you have done and pull back to check if any cupcake remnants remain.

Step 4: Show mom how messy your face is.

Step 5: Lick remaining evidence off your hands.

Bathtime

I have always wanted to give my baby a bath in the kitchen sink, for no specific reason, just because. I haven't ever done it before, because...well, to be honest, my sink is generally full of dishes. As much as I would like for it to be empty and perfectly clean all the time so I could bathe him in it more often, it's probably not going to happen. Anyway, I did have the chance one night, so I took it. It's way easier than leaning over a tub holding a wet baby!

Lincoln wasn't quite sure what to think about it at first.

After a few minutes he started to realize that it was pretty fun and he liked the water and the bubbles.

And then he thought it'd be even more fun to splash like a maniac and then he really had a good time.

As long as he is small enough, next time my sink is empty, I may just have to do this again. :)

Basketball

I guess at Mart's work they had a random basketball hoop that a previous employee had brought but never took with him when he left, so he asked around and nobody cared if he brought it home for Ethan.

Ethan thinks it's great fun! He's still way too short to make an actual basket in it, and after a while Mart got tired of lifting him up...so he had to make a ghetto basket for Ethan.

The top of a 5 gallon bucket is the perfect size for a basketball, and Ethan loves that it's more his height!

Slow down!

This picture is a little old now, but could he look any older?? Geez kid, slow down!

Bouncing Baby

We have a doorway bouncer that we got with Ethan, but Ethan was such a big baby he was only able to use it 2-3 times before he outgrew it. Fortunately, Lincoln is a tiny little guy and will fit in the harness for a long time! He LOVES it! He is so good at it now, he launches himself way up into the air. Ethan loves to help Lincoln bounce too, so I suppose it's good entertainment for all three of us. :)

Quote of the day

Mart went to get Ethan out of bed and must have startled him. I guess he looked at Mart and said:

"Dad! You scared me! I thought you were a ghost!" - Ethan

8 months

Lincoln turns 9 months on Thursday, so I probably should get an 8 month picture up before then. :)

I can't believe that Lincoln is 8 months old! He's growing so fast and is so sweet. He has been a little cranky lately. I'm sure it's because he has some teeth coming in. I am not positive, but he's getting anywhere from 2-4 teeth at the same time! Poor little man.

He's still just a tiny little thing. He has been working on crawling and is so close! It'll be anytime now.

Some facts about Lincoln:

*He has two teeth and is working on 2-4 more at the moment. They are the top front teeth.
*He is still wearing a size 2 diaper
*He is wearing 6-9 month clothes now (and very select 3-6 month clothes!)
*He LOVES Ethan!
*Ethan totally loves him too!
*He is a pretty good little eater. He likes just about all the food I give him, with a few exceptions. He doesn't really like peas (or the mixed vegetables with peas in it) and green beans are give and take. Some days he likes them, other days he doesn't. He doesn't like oatmeal quite as much as he used to, so I should probably push him harder to eat more of it.

He's totally a sweet baby and I love having him around.
